Alok Dhanwa
Alok Dhanwa, born on 2 July 1948 in Munger in the northern Indian state of Bihar, is one of the most prominent Hindi poets. His poems have been translated into English and Russian. He has received numerous honours, including Pahal Samman, Nagarjun Samman, Firaq Gorakhpuri Samman, Girija Kumar Mathur Samman and Bhawani Prasad Mishra Smriti Samman. A resident of Patna, Dhanwa has worked at Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, Wardha, and Bihar Sangeet Natak Akademi.
