Jerry Pinto

Jerry Pinto is a writer and poet based in Mumbai. His books include the novels Em and the Big Hoom, Murder in Mahim and The Education of Yuri; the non-fiction book Helen: The Life and Times of an H-Bomb; and two volumes of poetry, I Want a Poem and Other Poems and Asylum. An acclaimed translator, Pinto has also published landmark translations from Marathi and Hindi, including Cobalt Blue, Baluta, When I Hid My Caste, I Have Not Seen Mandu and I, the Salt Doll. In addition to this, he has published books for children and edited several volumes of his essays. In 2016, Pinto received the Windham-Campbell Prize and the Sahitya Akademi Award.
