Arunava Sinha translates classic, modern and contemporary Bengali literature from India and Bangladesh into English. Of more than seventy of his published translations, eleven have won, or been longlisted or shortlisted for prizes in India, the UK and the US. He is an associate professor of practice in the Creative Writing Department at Ashoka University, India; co-director of the Ashoka Centre for Translation; and the books editor of the online politics and culture magazine Scroll.in.
