Richard Philcox is a British French-to-English literary translator best known for translating the novels of Guadeloupean writer Maryse Condé, his late wife and long-time collaborator. He has also produced acclaimed translations of Frantz Fanon, and has taught translation at universities including Princeton. Philcox was shortlisted for the 2023 International Booker Prize.
