Carlo Ginzburg (born 1939) is an Italian historian whose work helped define microhistory and influential approaches to evidence, interpretation, and cultural history. He taught at the University of Bologna, served as Franklin D. Murphy Professor of Italian Renaissance Studies at UCLA, and is professor emeritus at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa.
