Collection: Sylvie Kandé

Born in Paris to a French mother and a Senegalese father, Sylvie Kandé is the author of three acclaimed poetry collections published by Gallimard. Her writing and research explore the complex dialogues between Africa and Europe, and between Africa and its diasporas, with a focus on métissage (hybridity) and post-racial utopias. The French original of Gestuary (2016) received the 2017 Prix Louise Labé. Kandé lives in New York City and teaches at SUNY Old Westbury.
